COVID-19 NOTICES AND UPDATES
Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity Continues Operations During Coronavirus Outbreak
Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity is working hard to keep staff, customers, volunteers and donors safe. Our Williston and Milton ReStores are reopening using Covid-19 protection measures, our Volunteer construction work is on hold, and our administrative staff (Executive Director, Advancement Director, Volunteer Coordinator and Accounting Manager) are working remotely. We will still be answering e-mail and phone messages, and will be picking up our mail, including financial donations.
In the meantime, please consider:
MAKING A FINANCIAL DONATION:
Our partner families will need a hand up now more than ever. Financial donations may be contributed online at vermonthabitat.org/donate-now, or by sending a check to Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity, 300 Cornerstone Drive, Suite 335, Williston, VT 05495.
DONATING TO THE RESTORES:
The ReStores are operating at full capacity and are accepting donations during operating hours:
- Williston, M-F 10-6, Sat & Sun 10-5
- Milton, W-F 10-6, Sat & Sun 10-5
We are also scheduling pickups for residential and business donations Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
SHOPPING AT THE WILLISTON AND MILTON RESTORES:
In an effort to keep our community healthy, all Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity ReStore staff members and volunteers have been trained in effective COVID-19 prevention controls such as social distancing, handwashing and cleaning of frequently touched items (door handles, shopping carts, registers, etc.).
Moving forward, we’re asking all ReStore customers, vendors and visitors to please adhere to the following guidelines while in-store:
- If you have symptoms of a respiratory illness or a fever, stay home.
- Maintain 6 feet of distance between yourself and other customers, our staff members and our volunteers if and whenever possible.
- We strongly recommend that everyone wear a face mask. If you come into close contact (less than 6 feet) with a member of our ReStore team, a mask will be mandatory.
- Assistance with carry-outs will be limited. If planning to purchase a larger item, please ask a friend or family member to accompany you.
We appreciate everyone’s flexibility and understanding as we adapt to changing times. Thanks for helping keep our communities safe, and we’ll be seeing you soon.
VISITING OUR RESTORE ONLINE:SHOP ONLINE
To continue serving our customers and community, we’ve launched an online store that can be accessed at: https://shop.vermonthabitat.org/. Start shopping from the comfort of your home. Even with the reopening of our “bricks and mortar” stores, we will continue to offer our online store for your convenience.
SIGNING UP TO VOLUNTEER IN THE FUTURE:
If you’d like to volunteer at the build sites or the ReStore once we’ve re-opened, please fill out a Volunteer Intake Form here. Our Volunteer Coordinator will be in touch shortly.
This is an increasingly difficult time for people, businesses and organizations in our community. Luckily, our current partner families are sheltered safely in their Habitat built homes, but the need for affordable homes for low-income families will continue to grow exponentially. Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit and relies on the generous support of others, and we need your help now more than ever. If you’re able, please make a donation today — you can donate online, or mail a check to 300 Cornerstone Drive, Suite 335, Williston, VT 05465.
Thank you and be well,
David Mullin, Executive Director
