SWANTON, VERMONT (2/1/2024) – Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity’s Swanton ReStore will be open five days a week, starting the week of Feb. 5.
The store was previously open three days a week —Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday— and it will now be open five days a week from Tuesday through Saturday. The store is located at 104 Robin Hood Drive, just minutes off exit 21 of I-89.
The Swanton ReStore was started more than ten years ago by dedicated volunteers and donors. Now, the store has several paid staff members. As the need for more affordable, sustainable retail options has grown, so has the Swanton ReStore.
“Due to the success that we’ve seen from the Swanton ReStore in the past few years, we are excited to increase the number of days the store is open, so we can be available to more members of the community,” said Ali Senesac, ReStore Director at Green Mountain Habitat.
Proceeds from the Habitat for Humanity ReStores fund the construction of perpetually affordable homes in Northwest Vermont. Green Mountain Habitat receives no funding from Habitat for Humanity International, so all funding is raised locally.
Currently, Green Mountain Habitat is building two homes in Swanton on Lefty Lane. These homes are expected to be completed in the near future.
