WILLISTON, VERMONT (5/14/2025) – Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity (GMHFH) is excited to announce the addition of Judy Bickford, Kathy Lavoie, and John Vogel to its Board of Directors.
“We are excited to have these talented, dedicated individuals on our Board,” said David Mullin, CEO of Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity. “Their skills will help us further our impact as we work toward building ten homes a year.”
Judy Bickford was previously on the Lamoille County Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors, a chapter of GMHFH, which has since been reintegrated into GMHFH. Bickford, a retired educator, comes to the Board with unwavering passion for GMHFH. She has a plethora of experience in local governance, as she has served on the Morrisville Selectboard, Morrisville Recreation Committees, School Boosters Club, Parent Teacher Association, Lamoille County Retired Educators Association, Vermont Retired Educators Association, Lamoille County Planning Commission, and Morristown Housing Committee.
Kathy Lavoie works at Northwest Regional Planning Commission (NRPC) supporting Franklin and Grand Isle counties through her work as Special Projects for Economic Recovery. Her position combines her background in workforce development, economic development, and various local, regional and statewide positions that support individuals, communities, municipalities, and businesses. Kathy has served on many committees and boards, believing that service to others is at the heart of personal, professional and community growth and prosperity. Kathy was a member of the Vermont Legislature 2000-2008, serving as Vice Chair of House Committee on Education and House Committee on Natural Resources. Kathy is a life-long Vermonter, growing up in Milton and residing in Swanton for the past 41 years.
John Vogel is a retired professor from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College, where he taught real estate and nonprofit management. The “Business Week Guide” to Business Schools named him as one of Tuck’s “Outstanding Faculty” members. He previously taught at Harvard Business School and The Yale School of Management. Vogel was the founding director of the Allwin Initiative for Corporate Citizenship. He currently serves on the board of Evernorth and the Vermont Community Foundation. He frequently consults businesses, nonprofits, and other government agencies on real estate, non-profit management, or entrepreneurship in the social sector, and he also is a commentator at Vermont Public.
