Dianne Shullenberger, a local artist from Jericho, VT, has pledged to donate a piece of artwork for every new Green Mountain Habitat homeowner.
Shullenberger is most well known for her fabric collages, which use thousands of tiny pieces of fabric to create a scene of Vermont’s natural landscape.
She believes that art can be a crutch that helps us in turbulent times, viewing it as a tool for balance, happiness, and inspiration in her everyday life, as well as her purpose for creating art.
“Art sets a tone when you walk into a room; it can soothe, comfort and transport you in your mind to a lovely place. Providing art to new homeowners that may have had turbulence in their lives is my gift to them,” said Shullenberger.
Shullenberger’s art will be presented to the families at their Home Dedications, which is an intimate celebration of the families’ accomplishments and the beginning of a new chapter in their lives as homeowners.
“We are so grateful that Dianne reached out to us to share her artwork with our partner families,” said Scott Rogers, Director of Development and Communications. “We are excited for our families to have a piece of Vermont’s landscape on the walls of their brand new, affordable homes.”
