Green Mountain Habitat for Humanity held three Women Build events through summer and fall of 2023. Our Women Build events provide opportunities for female-identifying individuals to become engaged within their community.
This program strives to create an inclusive and supportive environment to help female-identifying individuals grow their skills and improve their neighborhoods.
Women Build events are recognized by Habitat for Humanity International, and they have helped build over 650 homes since its recognition in 1998. The program originated in Charlotte, North Carolina, and it has grown to become a major event for Habitat Affiliates around the globe.
This year, our Women Build events were sponsored by National Life Group. We are so thankful for their sponsorship and the hard work from our participating groups from PC Construction, Burton, and Pivot Marketing.

PC Construction
Our first Women Build event occurred on August 29 with a lively group from PC Construction. They volunteered in Colchester with members from their administrative offices and their construction teams. They brought their own hard hats and positive attitudes to the build sites. With this group and the Geezer team on site, a lot of work was done in just one day!

Pivot Marketing
A group of volunteers from Pivot Marketing worked on a duplex in the Old North End of Burlington on Oct 27. They were the final Women Build event of the year, but it was filled with excitement and hard work nonetheless. This group got lunch from Poppy Cafe, a local, women-owned sandwich shop. The weather was slightly chilly, and the sun was shining. The group could be found all over the site laughing, chatting, and smiling. With plenty of jobs to do, this group helped make significant progress on these homes.
